I was honored to be invited to Leadership Macomb’s National Leadership Day!

Brigadier General Leah V. Voelker (LM XVIII), Commander of the 127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, gave a special presentation on the extensive planning for Selfridge’s “Mission Next”, a major modernization effort bringing in the F-15EX Eagle II fighters starting in 2028 and KC-46 Pegasus refuelers in 2030, with nearly $1 billion in upgrades.  I also was able to connect with several Macomb County leaders. What a great way to end the week!

Great forum last night for Michigan Secretary of State Republican candidates hosted by MI 10th Congressional District Republicans.

Anthony Forlini for Us

Monica Yatooma

Amanda Love for Secretary of State

The discussion was expertly moderated by former Michigan Secretaries of State Candice Miller and Senator Ruth Johnson bringing experience and insight to the conversation.  I was able to connect with Joey Mace, Michigan 10th Congressional District Young Republicans and Kevin Kijewski, Candidate for Michigan Attorney General while meeting so many amazing precinct delegates.

It was a great opportunity to get to know the candidates better for the upcoming endorsement convention.

December 5, 2026

Yesterday was jam packed!

I started my morning volunteering at the Rochester OPC, which is always a blessing.

From there, I headed to the ABC Southeastern MI (Associated Builders and Contactors) Christmas party. While I was there, President/CEO Keith Ledbetter kindly gave me a tour of their Training Academy.

I was very impressed by what they’re doing. They’re not only addressing the skilled trades shortage, but they’ve built a true apprenticeship model that combines paid work with hands-on skills training. And the best part? This isn’t a government program — it’s an industry-driven solution created by builders who understand exactly what the workforce needs.

I wrapped up the evening with the Michigan Matters Christmas party.

Jay DeBoyer - State Representative and Kevin Kijewski for Michigan AG
